Fire Door Installation

Certified FD30 and FD60 fire door supply and installation for commercial and residential buildings. All doors certified to BS 476 or BS EN 1634 with full hardware included.

Fire doors are passive fire protection — they contain the spread of fire and smoke within a building, protecting escape routes and giving occupants vital time to evacuate. Unlike active systems such as fire alarms and AOV systems, fire doors work continuously without any power or activation required. We supply and install certified fire doors for commercial, public and residential buildings. For local installation across Kent see our fire doors Kent page, or for Sheerness our fire doors Sheerness page.

FD30 and FD60 fire doors

FD30 fire doors provide 30 minutes of fire resistance — the most common type for residential and commercial use, required at flat entrance doors, stairwell doors and between compartments in most buildings.

FD60 fire doors provide 60 minutes of fire resistance — required in higher-risk locations such as plant rooms, areas adjacent to high fire-load compartments and in some commercial buildings. All fire doors we supply are certified to BS 476 Part 22 or BS EN 1634 and come complete with intumescent seals, smoke seals, hinges, closers and all required hardware.

Fire doors for commercial premises

Commercial buildings with two or more storeys, or where fire compartmentation is required, need correctly specified and installed fire doors. Our engineers carry out a full fire door survey, identify locations and specifications required, and install certified door assemblies — stairwell doors, corridor fire doors, plant room doors and service shaft access. We work alongside our fire alarm and emergency lighting services to provide complete fire safety compliance.

Fire doors for residential buildings

Blocks of flats, HMOs and converted properties have specific fire door requirements under Approved Document B and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022. We install flat entrance fire doors, communal door sets and internal fire door assemblies — providing the critical compartmentation needed to protect residents.

Fire door inspection and maintenance

Existing fire doors must be regularly inspected to ensure they continue performing their passive fire protection role. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require quarterly checks of fire doors in residential buildings over 11 metres. We carry out fire door inspections checking for damage, worn seals, incorrect clearances and defective closers — issuing full condition reports and carrying out remedial works as required.
